In 2019, Manitoba’s largest institute of applied learning celebrated 15 years of making an impact in its own community and beyond. Red River College (RRC) has quickly gone from a newcomer on the Canadian research scene, to a game-changer — consistently being named one of Research Infosource top 15 research colleges in Canada.

RRC is expanding its research and development (R&D) reach and supporting community and industry-based technological clusters in some of Manitoba’s largest industries: food and agricultural development, aerospace and manufacturing, and sustainable building technology. RRC recently welcomed its third Technology Access Centre, or TAC — a specialized R&D centre affiliated with publicly-funded colleges and cégeps. The Prairie Research Kitchen is RRC’s newest TAC, joining the existing TAC for Aerospace and Manufacturing and Building Efficiency TAC.

With three TACs, RRC is ready to tackle the needs of a changing world. By expanding the curriculum to create research opportunities, RRC is working to support sustainability — both in the classroom and in the field.
