The COVID-19 pandemic has made virtual health care a necessity. DrugSmart Pharmacy has taken that challenge head-on by launching online portals that provide Canadians with access to community pharmacists and physicians from the convenience of their homes.

What is a virtual pharmacy?

You can now submit prescription refills and new requests online, book pharmacist counselling sessions via phone or video, and get prescriptions and over-the-counter products delivered for free, anywhere in Canada. A signature is required at the time of delivery. All DrugSmart Pharmacy services are now available online to better serve Canadians during this period of physical distancing. These services are available to everyone nationwide, and DrugSmart bills directly to all private and some provincial insurance plans.

Virtual “walk-in” clinic now open

With the current challenges that Canadians are experiencing due to the COVID-19 pandemic and with the strain on the health care system, DrugSmart has also teamed up with Ontario physicians to establish OHIP-covered doctor visits by phone or video.

Everyone should be able to access medical care as needed, especially during a pandemic when regular, ongoing health care concerns are at risk of being overlooked. This service is not meant to replace a family doctor or the emergency room.

For prescription requests, doctor appointments, or to contact DrugSmart’s live chat pharmacy support, visit them on social media or on their website.
